Ame no Ame: Wordplay

Screen print on paper W21cm x H21cm The creation of this artwork was supported in part by the Open Studio Residency Program at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. The idea of the artwork stems from an installation, "Candy Rain: Ame no Ame" which was presented at Snow Picnic in Tokyo. "Candy Rain", when written in Japanese alphabets "あめのあめ” (hiragana) consists of 5 characters. In the print, all horizontal and vertical lines contain the same number of characters.
